Current Outreach Opportunities at St. James

We are asking for your support of the PA National Guard stationed in Iraq by donating stationary, holiday cards for them to send to loved ones, disposable razors, shampoo, soap, suntan lotion, toothtpaste & toothbrushes, deodorant, chapstick, candy ( not  chocolate), cookies, gum, games, playing cards and books. A box is provided in the parish hall.

We ask that you remember our seminarian by donating to the Seminarian fund when you are able. Checks should be made out to the Discretionary Fund noted for this use.

Ongoing is our weekly collection of food for the ERA food pantry. The need is always great and every little bit helps.

Our  Pancake Breakfast  on Feb. 3rd, 2008  resulted in an $831 donation to  the ERA food pantry.   A sincere thank-you to all who supported this effort.

Soup Kitchen Experience on April 26th

In the wee hours of the morning, 10 youth and 5 adults ventured into Philadelphia to serve at the soup kitchen at St. Marks church on Locust St.  We  brought  with us the 25 gallons of chicken-rice soup that had been prepared by members of the congregation.  The  clients enjoyed the soup and ate their fill, but they  REALLY loved the cookies  we brought that had been loving made by the  junior-youth group, our 4th-6th graders, under the direction of their teacher, Mrs. Fitzpatrick.   We hope to repeat this opportunity several times a year, but anyone with the desire may go on any Saturday,  the help is always welcomed - see saintmarksphiladelphia.org

Support the Youth Group as they participate in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life at the Pennsbury High School field on June 28th & 29th.  Stop by anytime between 11am Sat & 11am Sun to do a lap or two, or as many as you'd like, and support the efforts of the youth group and donate to a worthy cause.
